Small Woven Diizche Safari Adventures Logo Patch

Small Woven Diizche Safari Adventures Logo Patch
1.87" width and 1.87" height

VELCRO hook backed Woven Diizche Safari Adventures logo patch. Smaller size patches look their best if they are woven as opposed to being embroidered. Wanting nothing but the best in quality and appearance, we decided this was the way to go with this patch. This is a great looking smaller size subdued patch for use on your cap, hunting or tactical shirts, tactical chest rig, armor platform, assault pack, day packs, rifle bags, and other accessories. It displays our "Slayer of Monsters" logo design on a high quality woven military/police style patch that will hold up extremely well.

This is a circle shaped patch that is 1.87" in width and 1.87" in height.

DVD Now Available! On the Edge of Danger-Hunting Africa’s Dangerous Game

To hunt dangerous game in Africa is one of the summits of international big-game hunting. There are plenty of naturally occurring and self-imposed risks involved. A hunter must accept that these hazards are simply part of the process of hunting dangerous game under fair-chase conditions. The veteran big-game hunter understands what they are up against while on the edge of danger.

There has not been a season in Africa in the last ten years during which there were no hunter fatalities or serious injury. At least one person, and sometimes more, during this period got killed while hunting dangerous game, and several more were seriously wounded. The basic fact is that death is a possibility for the hunter and his team.

DVD Now Available! Patience and Pressure-Hunting the African Leopard

Patience And Pressure-Hunting The African Leopard follows some of Africa’s most noted Professional Hunters and their clients into some of the Dark Continent’s best leopard country. Learn the “How’s and Why’s” of this game as you go into the blind on 15 of Safari Classics most exciting and memorable leopard safaris.

DVD Now Available! Where Tracks Lead

This DVD for the Big Four (no rhino) is set in Tanzania, Mozambique, and Zimbabwe. It is interesting to see the varied terrain in these countries, some of it very densely vegetated, some of it open, but in all cases game rich.

Some of the hunts on this DVD are with double rifles, most with bolt actions; some are father-and-son hunts; and some are single individuals. The thread that links them is the big game of Africa they all desire to hunt: Cape buffalo, elephant, lion, hippo, and leopard. Sometimes the game is right there only a few hundred yards after leaving the road, and sometimes it takes hours and even days of tracking to find the right trophy, but in all cases each episode ends in a successful hunt. No time is wasted on impalas and springbucks, so if you like claws, teeth, horns, and tusks, you will find them in this DVD.

2017 Safari Rifle Challenge World Championships-Coming Soon!

The 2017 Safari Rifle Challenge World Championships are coming soon! The event will be held in Libby, Montana at the Libby Rod and Gun Club. Jay Sheffield is the Match Director and puts on an exciting and enjoyable event. It is always held on the second Sunday in July (07-09-2017).

The shooting event fills-up very quickly after they send notices to the participants on their email group so they don't advertise. If you want to sign up, request more information, or get on their notification list send Jay an email (see below) and he will get you squared away.

Here is an update from Jay regarding the soon to be held 2017 event:

Safari Rifle Challenge
World Championships in Libby, Montana
Sunday July 09, 2017 8 am-4 pm

The Event: This is a family oriented shoot featuring both life size and moving targets. It is designed to simulate events encountered on an African Safari. Targets will be scored and times will be announced, but since all prizes are awarded by random drawing, you will be competing purely for the glory of sport! Participants will be expected to cheerfully help with reset of targets, powering the moving targets and any other menial labor that may be necessary for the greater good. ALL shooters must be at least 18 years old and preregistered. There is a $20 participation fee which will also entitle you to a commemorative t-shirt.

The Guns: This is a big bore, dangerous game rifle shoot. Essentially .375/9.3 caliber or larger cartridges in single shot, bolt action or double rifles with minimum muzzle energy of 4000 ft./lbs. If you have an antique double rifle in a smaller caliber that is capable of taking big game then bring it! Single shot, double barrel or bolt action 10/12/20 gauge guns firing single lead balls or slugs will also be allowed. Sorry, but no handguns, pump or semi-automatic firearms. You will need about 30 rounds. ABSOLUTELY NO LIGHT LOADS!

The Rules: All guns will be placed in the racks with actions open. When it is your turn to shoot, you will be directed to get your rifle by the range master. SAFETY AND MUZZLE CONTROL ARE NON-NEGOTIABLE! The start position will generally be low ready with a round in the chamber, finger off the trigger and the safety on, unless otherwise directed by range staff. A range master “PH” will stay beside you at all times while on the course. On most stages, there will be a limited amount of ammunition allowed in your gun when starting the stage, extra rounds will have to be loaded from the belt, pocket, butt stock etc. We reserve the right to change the course of fire based on our disposition, your disposition, untimely demise of the targets, comments from the peanut gallery, weather or whatever other factors may be present. All distances are approximate and subject to change.

The Course of Fire: Shooting positions will vary from standing on your hind legs and shooting offhand, to kneeling and seated. Frequently it will be a combination of positions. Some stages may require the use of shooting sticks which will be provided. Many stages will require you to fire at a target, move to another spot, reload and then fire at a second target. All movement will be done with an empty gun and all reloading will be done once you are safely at the next shooting position. If you have any physical issues that preclude a certain activity we will cheerfully accommodate you.

The 10 stage course is specifically designed to NOT favor any particular style of rifle or sight system. Distances will vary between 5 and 75+ yards. Targets will vary from life-size broadside buffalo and elephant heads to clay birds, water jugs and steel gongs.

Location: Libby Shooting Sports Complex on Farm to Market Rd. across from the Libby Airport.

Time: Shooting starts at 8 am SHARP! Please arrive early to check in and get setup. Remember to bring lawn chairs, hat and sunscreen. You are encouraged to bring your own food and drinks (NO ALCOHOL ON RANGE PROPERTY). Water and soft drinks will be available for purchase in the clubhouse.

P.S. There will be vendors on site including Montana Rifle Company and Norma USA who will once again have a large display of their rifles and ammunition available to test fire and Skinner Sights will display their line of fine aperture sights and custom carry /range bags.

2016 Safari Rifle Challenge World Championships: Final Report

The Winner-Dan Larsson of St. Ignatius MT
The 6th annual Safari Rifle Challenge is in the books. Here is a recap of this year’s event made by Jay Sheffield. Jay is the Match Director of the Safari Rifle Challenge World Championships:

The 75 participants enjoyed a sunny 70 degree Montana day and when the dust settled, Dan Larsson of St. Ignatius MT was the winner. Shooting a .375H&H he scored 197 out of a possible 200! A huge thank you to Shawn Joyce of Diizche Safari Adventures who has become our main sponsor. A big thanks also to Jeff Sipe and Dave Wisher of Montana Rifle Company and Andy Larsson of Skinner Sights. Without the support of these men, we would not be able to put on the quality of shoot that we now offer.

For those who are interested, here is the 2016 course of fire........

2016 Safari Rifle Challenge Course of Fire. Your rifle MUST remain in the rack unloaded with the action open at all times. Do not handle rifles unless you are specifically directed to do so by a range officer. This is a fun shoot designed to test your skills but safety is paramount. Unsafe gun handling will not be tolerated and violators will be asked to leave the range immediately. The range officers are here for everyone’s protection and their directions are law! The RO’s will call and record your score. Please check your score sheet immediately because no scoring errors may be challenged after you leave the firing line.

1. Checking Zero ---- Four shooters on the line. Starting position will be EMPTY rifle, safety off, shouldered and pointed at the target. On the whistle you will load and fire one round then load and fire a second round. Open action, show clear, muzzle up during scoring and return to the gun racks.

2. Shooting Gallery --- Shooter will place unloaded rifle and three rounds on the table. Shooter will take a one gallon jug and hang it on the hook. On the command shooter will give the jug a good push then run back to the table, load rifle and shoot at the jug until it bursts. If you have any rounds left then shoot the hanging 5” DuraSeal ball. Open action, show clear, muzzle up when done.

3. Charging Lion --- Rifle loaded with two rounds, safety on. On start command, lion will head towards you. You must then kneel down on one (or both) knees, disengage safety and fire both rounds. Open action and show clear before getting up.

4. Fast Blast --- Two shooters on the line. Two rounds in rifle, safety on. On the command shoot the two jugs in front of you. If you burst both jugs then you may load a third round and shoot the gong. First person to hit gong gets an extra 10 points. Open action, show clear, muzzle up when done.

5. Two Elephants --- Rifle loaded with one round, safety on. Fire at the close elephant target. Move to the next spot, load one round and fire at distant elephant. Open action, show clear, muzzle up when done.

6. Rhino and Hippo --- Rifle loaded with one round, safety on. Fire at hippo target. Move to the next spot, load one round and fire at rhino target. Open action, show clear, muzzle up when done. (Kill zones will be faintly marked for scoring purposes; you must evaluate the angle then shoot at the heart/lung zone just like in real life).

7. Fleeing Buffalo --- Rifle loaded with two rounds, safety on. On the signal the buffalo will start going away. You must FIRST shoot at the 10” 50 yard gong. Your SECOND shot will then be at the buffalo. Open action, show clear, muzzle up when done.
8. DuraSeal Challenge --- Two shooters on the line. Two rounds in rifle, safety on. On the command, shoot the two 5” DuraSeal targets in front of you. If you hit them both then load a third round and be the first one to hit the gong. First person to hit gong gets an extra 10 points. Open action, show clear, muzzle up when done.

9. Charging Water Jugs --- Two shooters, two rounds in rifle, safety on. The cart will start towards you and you will then be given the shoot command. You must shoot the jug on your side then race to shoot the middle jug. Open action, show clear, muzzle up when done.

10. Long Range Gong --- One shooter, one round in rifle with safety on. On command, take one standing offhand shot at the long range gong. Closest gong is for open sights; farthest gong is for optical/dot sights. Open action, show clear, muzzle up when done.

Below are pictures of a few of the stages (click to enlarge images):

Next year, the 2017 Safari Rifle Challenge World Championships will again be held in Libby, Montana at the Libby Rod and Gun Club. The event is always held on the second Sunday in July. There is a large community fund raising concert every year on the second Saturday so they piggy-back with that to give shooters something else to enjoy while they are visiting Libby, Montana. Jay Sheffield puts on an exciting and enjoyable event.

If you have not had the opportunity to attend one of the shoots in beautiful Libby, Montana, then we hope you will make plans to do so in 2017. If you want to be added to the (confidential) email list, just drop Jay a line at safaririflechallenge@yahoo.com

We hope to see you next year!
